For a while now, I've been scheming up a plan to make the iDroid Data Device in real life. Most of the planning was with a good friend by the name of Gabe. I have sadly lost contact with him, but that won't stop me!
IO will be the same as shown in game with a minor change. An analog stick, 3 main buttons and a 4th action button, a USB-C connector, and presumably a headphone jack.
Now as for the infamous hologram display...
Gabe mentioned how electronic cigarettes create water vapor and said we could project the image onto them. At the time, I was skeptical at best, but there have been innovations in projecting images onto water, even in 3D!
The plan is to implement a small water vaporizer and a small projector. User interface will be similar to ingame and the projector will probable be monochrome to cut costs.
