Cozy Van Ideas

I'm sure everyone at this point is aware of the concept of van life, the idea of living in the back of a large cargo vehicle.
This idea is one that Gabe and I think is cool. We've been discussing it for a while, so I figured why not make a page for the project?

The Problem: Too Many Variables!

How we furnish the van largely depends on how big the van is, which depends on local availability and budget.
Given we're broke high school kids as of writing this, I'm assuming we're getting something small.
The form factor of the van will have a major influence on what furniture we get, because furniture more optimized for
small vehicles will leave lots of open space, potentially in a wasteful manner.

If we get a smaller vehicle...

I intend to buy furniture from Contour Campers, specifically the Topo Sofa Bed.
It's cheap, simple, gives me enough storage for a cooler and a PS4, and converts into a bed easily.

The Rig Sideboard is the other piece of furniture from them that sticks out because of the very large folding table.

The electricity system will be simple. There will be a solar panel on the roof that charges an all-in-one power station.
This may lead you to wonder how one of those will handle the immense power draw of a refridgerator,
and to that I say there won't be one. Fridges are expensive and take lots of power, so I'll use a basic cooler instead.

My cooking appliance of choice is a George Foreman grill. These basic appliances will be easily stowed under the sofa with
ease and don't require complex wiring or dangerous Propane. I love propane as much as the next guy, but I tell you hwhat,
I'd rather not huff it in my sleep and not wake up.

If I some day get enough budget and experience to upgrade and add a kitchen, I'll have to rethink the battery situation and figure out
plumbing. Hoping I can still use an electric stove.

What about a larger vehicle?

I have no clue how I'll use the additional space. If there's enough room, I want to put in two large beds. One of them will
be on a hydraulic lift system so I can have it out of the way, low down, or in a bunk config.
This also grants me the option of putting a shower inside the van, but I don't know how to make it out of the way.

Another idea I've given some thought to is making a section of floor in a larger van heated so I can put a tick mattress on the floor
and be nice and toasty.

About electricity...

I want to wire the battery that powers the fun stuff to the alternator of the van so I don't only rely on solar.
That of course depends on if I can make it charge both batteries adequately. I'd need an isolator so it doesn't always charge the battery.
